Very good Tandoori
(Sun, Apr 4, '10):
With close to zero expectations, my wife and I travelled to Ginza for some Indian food. As already commented by others, the Tandoori was excellent (we had the mixed grill which was not dry at all, very tender and moist) but my wife and I liked the garlic nan the best. Only tried one curry (butter chicken) and it was decent. We also ordered some spicy scallop and this was a disappointment (bland and overcooked). We also liked the interior of the restaurant (very warm ambiance with the lights and soft-colored walls). On the downside, the service was a bit shoddy. We waited a very long time for our nan and curry and the waiter kept dropping everything (a straw at my table, the lid of a small pot at another table and was just sloppy). The price wasn't too bad (with drinks, less than 4k each). I will be back because despite its faults, it does make one thing better than everyone else: the tandoori.

good tandoori
(Sun, Feb 11, '07):
Tandoori was good, very juicy and tasty - other than that this was very average and not probably worth travelling to ginza for. The experience started off promisingly with a seat next to the open plan kitchen but soon deteriorated as the service was very poor. We waited what seemed like an eternity to get our food and when we got it i was a very underwhelmed especially with the butter chiken for which I had read rave reviews of here. Coming from the UK I am a hard critic of Indian food and unfortunately this was came up short. The redeeming dish was the tandoori.

Currie!
(Thu, Feb 1, '07):
Honestly I thought I went into a Mediterranean restaurant when I went in. Food on average is pretty good however I think its kind of pricey.
The naan bread is funny, not sure what they put in it. I would go with the normal naan bread which i think is much better unless you want to be adventurous!

Is Tandoori worth the travel
(Fri, Jan 26, '07):
Best Tandoori I had in Tokyo. Curry is not bad but nothing special. If you are willing to travel to Ginza for Tandoori then this is the restaurant for you.

Great Tandoori Chicken
(Mon, Jan 22, '07):

Juicy Tandoori
(Sun, Jan 21, '07):
I have never liked tandoori chicken. I always found them dry and not tasty. Khyber has shown me that Tandoori can taste good and juicy. I was at first a bit skeptical to bring my friends there but glad I did at the end. The curry was however average. not the same level as nirvanam or Dhaba. The service was good but they are definitely under staff. Took them a long them to bring us food and we can almost never ask them more stuff and they are always running around. We end up asking one of the kitchen staff to have more drinks and food. If you like Tandoori, this is your tender land.

Good, Sumptuous, but....
(Fri, Dec 15, '06):
HEAVY.
I had the take out, and haven't been to the restaurant, personally, so can't comment on stuff like service/ decor, etc.
The butter chicken is the best I have tasted in the city, greasy as it is :-)
But definitely worth a go.
I heard its managed by the same guys that run
Dhaba India
